Veracruz: “One of the Best Family Cars”
One of the most popular morning shows is the “Today
Show“ on NBC. Last month, the Veracruz was one of
only five vehicles featured on a segment titled, "Best
Family Cars in America." During the show, Diane
Debrovner, senior editor of Parenting Magazine, walked
"Today Show" co-host Meredith Viera around the
vehicles ranked as the top family cars in their respective
segments, with the Veracruz featured as the best SUV.
She noted that the Veracruz has "a lot of features for your
money." A related story on the Veracruz will appear in
the March issue of Parenting Magazine.

If your family is small but you need the versatility of a sport utility vehicle, the Santa Fe is a good choice. Its small overall dimensions make it easy to park, yet the interior is quite roomy. Editors' Most Wanted Vehicles for 2007
Sedan Under $30,000
Winner: 2007 Hyundai Azera
If you thought Korean cars were cheap econoboxes, think again. The 2007 Hyundai Azera may not have a luxury nameplate, but it delivers plenty of high-end features and performance. With a relatively low price, the Azera offers a powerful 3.8-liter V6 engine capable of 263 horsepower and 257 pound-feet of torque, making it the quickest Hyundai to date. First-rate interior materials and an extensive list of features mean the Azera stacks up well against other large front-wheel-drive rivals such as the Toyota Avalon and Buick Lucerne. Offering a smooth, quiet ride and strong brakes, the Hyundai Azera is worth a good long look if you are shopping in this category.

| Editors' Most Wanted Vehicles for 2007 |
Sedan Under $15,000
Winner: 2007 Hyundai Accent
With high fuel prices likely here to stay, the bottom end of the car market has gotten more attention from consumers and manufacturers and thus more competitive, leading Hyundai engineers to take a second look at the Accent sedans. And after a complete redesign in 2006, the platform mates are no longer considered downmarket penalty boxes. Now pleasant to drive, loaded with features and comfortable to boot, the econocars have earned their spot on our Most Wanted list. Quickness is not within a lower-end economy car's grasp, but energized by a new 110-hp, 1.6-liter inline-4 with variable intake valve timing, the Hyundai Accent get around as easily as any of their peers.
2007 Hyundai Accent:
Antilock brakes are optional instead of standard for 2007 on sedan versions of Hyundai's smallest car. Accent comes as a 2-dr hatchback in GS and SE trim, and as a 9.2-inch-longer 4-dr sedan in GLS form. The sole engine is a 110-hp 4-cyl that teams with manual or automatic transmission. Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes are standard on SE, optional on GLS, and unavailable on GS. Front side airbags and curtain side airbags are standard on all Accents. Air conditioning is standard on GLS and SE, optional on GS. A Premium Package for GS and GLS adds power windows, heated power mirrors, and keyless entry. Those features are standard on SE.
2007 Hyundai Elantra:
Hyundai redesigns its best-selling car for 2007 with fresh looks, added size, and more standard safety features. Elantra now comes only as a 4-dr sedan. Against the 2001-06 models, the '07 is about 2 inches wider and taller on a 1.6-inch-longer wheelbase. Interior dimensions are little changed, as is weight. Models ascend through GLS, SE, and Limited. All use a 4-cyl engine with a manual transmission or an optional 4-speed automatic. ABS is standard instead of optional, but traction control is no longer offered. Curtain side airbags, previously unavailable, join front side airbags as another new standard. All Elantras have height-adjustable driver seat, power windows, remote entry, satellite radio, and iPod plug-in. Air conditioning, cruise control, and CD player are optional for GLS, included otherwise. Standard leather upholstery and heated front seats are Limited exclusives. This evaluation is based on preview test drives.
2007 Hyundai Entourage:
Hyundai's first minivan carries seven passengers and has a 3rd-row seat that folds into a floorwell. Entourage shares its design with the Kia Sedona; Hyundai is Kia's corporate parent. Entourage has a 242-hp V6 and a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual shift gate. GLS, SE, and Limited trim levels are offered. The 2nd-row bucket seats slide fore and aft, can be removed. The 3rd-row bench is split 60/40. ABS and traction/antiskid control are standard. Also standard are front side airbags and curtain side airbags that cover all three seating rows. All models have power windows in their sliding side doors. Dual power sliding side doors are standard on SE and Limited. Leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a power tailgate are standard on Limited. Also available are a sunroof, DVD entertainment, power-adjustable pedals, and rear obstacle detection.

2007 Hyundai Sonata:
This is the smaller of Hyundai's two midsize sedans. Sonata comes in GLS, SE, and top-line Limited. The GLS has a 162-hp 4-cyl. SE and Limited have a 235-hp V6. The GLS offers a choice of 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic. SE and Limited use a 5-speed automatic. Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and traction/antiskid control are standard. So are front side airbags and curtain side airbags. The Limited includes heated leather seats and automatic climate control.
|
2007 Hyundai Tucson: Highlights
This compact SUV is slightly smaller and less costly than Hyundai's Santa Fe SUV, but also employs a car-type platform. Tucson comes in GLS, SE, and Limited trim. GLS has a 140-hp 4-cyl engine and a manual transmission or extra-cost automatic. SE and Limited have a 173-hp V6 and automatic transmission. All offer front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The AWD lacks low-range gearing, but a dashboard switch locks in a 50/50 front/rear power split. Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and traction/antiskid control are standard. So are front side airbags and curtain side airbags. An optional sunroof is available on SE and Limited. Limiteds have specific exterior trim, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and heated front seats. |

Hyundai Santa Fe -2007 SUV of the Year
The Hyundai Santa Fe was our run-away winner for SUV of the Year, and it makes clear sense: it's not often when a vehicle comes around that's almost flawless. From the grown up new design to the near-luxury interior with room for seven -and the cool blue-lit cupholders -the Santa Fe is an excellent purchase. On the road, its character is smooth, nimble, efficient and powerful. Sure, you can find SUVs that tow more. Or climb bigger rocks. The 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe does best what today's SUVs need to do most: haul people, their stuff and do it all with a superbly efficient style.
Hyundai Azera Earns Top Marks from J.D. Power and Associates
It is my pleasure to announce yet another significant addition to Hyundai’s trophy case. The all-new Azera earned top marks in the 2006 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study conducted by J.D. Power and Associates. Your sales results to date indicate that this award is likely not a surprise to you; you already know about Azera’s tremendous consumer appeal. Azera beat the second-place Chrysler 300 and third-place Dodge Charger in the Large Car category for this honor.

As you are well aware, the Azera has already earned a reputation for high quality, finishing second in the J.D. Power and Associates’ 2006 Initial Quality Study (IQS) for the Large Car category. It also captured the AutoPacific 2006 Vehicle Satisfaction Award (VSA) for the Large Car category. And Forbes.com named the Azera the Best Luxurious Car for a Nonluxury Price in its 2006 “Best Cars for the Bucks” list.
Not to be outdone, the Tiburon also earned a second-place finish in the Compact Sporty Car category, finishing ahead of the Pontiac Solstice and the just behind the Scion tC. Tiburon continues to add diversity and depth to our growing product portfolio.

Hyundai lands in top 3 for quality
